Vocations

Pope Benedict XVI on the 43rd World Day of Prayer for Vocations invited all the faithful to nurture an intimate relationship with Christ, Teacher and Pastor of his people, by imitating Mary who kept the divine mysteries in her heart and pondered them constantly (cfr Lk 2,19). Together with her, who occupies a central position in the mystery of the Church, we pray:
O Father, raise up among Christians
abundant and holy vocations to the priesthood,
who keep the faith alive
and guard the blessed memory of your Son Jesus
through the preaching of his word
and the administration of the Sacraments,
with which you continually renew your faithful.

Grant us holy ministers of your altar,
who are careful and fervent guardians of the Eucharist,
the sacrament of the supreme gift of Christ
for the redemption of the world.

Call ministers of your mercy,
who, through the sacrament of Reconciliation,
spread the joy of your forgiveness.

Grant, O Father, that the Church may welcome with joy
the numerous inspirations of the Spirit of your Son
and, docile to His teachings,
may she care for vocations to the ministerial priesthood
and to the consecrated life.

Sustain the Bishops, priests and deacons,
consecrated men and women, and all the baptized in Christ,
so that they may faithfully fulfil their mission
at the service of the Gospel.

This we pray through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Mary, Queen of Apostles, pray for us.

Dominicans
The Order of Friars Preachers founded by Saint Dominic "is known from the beginning to have been instituted especially for preaching and the salvation of souls."
Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia Congregation
Living the Dominican motto, “To contemplate and to give to others the fruits of our contemplation”, we are committed to:
Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist
Through the profession of the evangelical counsels, our community seeks to embody the graces of the New Evangelization which Pope John Paul II announced as "the prelude to a new springtime in the Church." The spiritual identity of our fraternal life lived in community is shaped by Dominican spirituality with an emphasis on Eucharistic adoration and Marian devotion.
Fathers of Mercy
Our primary Apostolate is to preach parish missions and retreats. During a mission, the people of the parish gather each evening in their church for a series of conferences on the fundamental truths of the Catholic Faith, including the Ten Commandments, the Real Presence of our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament, devotion to our Blessed Mother, and the forgiveness of sins in the Sacrament of Penance.
Missionaries of the Gospel of Life
The Society is committed to activating all ministries within the Church, at every level, to be more effective in defending the right to life. Rather than creating new structures, we seek to infuse the existing structures with new vigor, confidence, and effectiveness in proclaiming the Gospel of Life and bringing about the cultural change that it inspires.
Franciscan Friars of the Renewal
First, our mission is to serve the materially poor, most especially the destitute and homeless. Every member of the community is to be personally and directly involved in “hands on” work with the poor. Second, our mission of evangelization in the Church is through preaching and teaching the Holy Gospel, and by sharing the rich treasures of our Catholic faith with all.
The Abbey of Gethsemani
The tools of the contemplative’s craft are simple: prayer, work, study, community, silence, hospitality, love. Getting started and keeping at the tasks are graces only God can give. The monk recognizes this gift and strives to open to it generously, for he has met Jesus in his life. His mission, his service in the Church and the world is to follow Christ more closely and to find God at the center of life.
Poor Clares of Perpetual Adoration
"Let Us Adore For All Eternity The Most Blessed Sacrament"
The St. John Vianney Vocation Society
The society is simply a group of Catholic faithful of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati who desire to obey our Lord's precept to "beg the harvest Master to send out laborers to gather His harvest." There are no dues or meetings, only the promise of prayer. Anyone can join - priests, religious, seminarians, and lay people.
